If you really love doughnuts, one of your favorites could be the Glazed Doughnut.

Doughnut it is a treat that nobody can deny from it. Doughnut is loved by everyone. It’s a fried dough confectionery. Doughnuts are famous in every country. They have their traditional recipes to offer. We categorize doughnuts as our snacks and treats.

 Doughnut can be homemade and can be purchased in different bakeshop, supermarket and food stalls.  It is usually deep fried dough in a shape of flattened sphere or ring. It is coated with sugar; it comes with filling, batter and other various toppings and flavorings.   

Why can we say that doughnut is good for our health? Doughnuts are:

Notes: Doughnut is a leading food that can cause Diabetes. Doughnuts are considered a treat if eaten once in a while but if too often it can cause some health problems.
            
The common types of doughnut are:

·         A ring doughnut is a doughnut with hole in the center and comes with sugar coating and sometimes nuts in the top. It is formed by joining the two ends of thin long, fierce dough to a ring.

·         Filled doughnuts are flattened sphere shape doughnuts filled with fruit syrups, chocolate syrups. Creams and custard.                                           
In the new generation Doughnut comes in different shapes, such as rings, balls, twisted and other shapes. Every Valentine’s Day it is usually where doughnuts are in shapes of hearts, every Christmas season the bakers are using the Christmas tree shape.

  • ·         South Africa (Koeksister) soaked in a spiced syrup and coated with coconut
  • ·         Morocco (Sfenj) sprinkled with sugar and soaked in honey

·         Austria (Krapfen) doesn't have the common ring shape but its solid and filled with apricot jam or vanilla cream.
·         Belgium (Smoutebollen) does not contain fruits except for apple chunks sometimes.
·         Czech Republic is an American style doughnut. Before they were solid and filled with strawberry jam and peach jam.
·         Denmark they have also the American style doughnut. Berliner is also available in their bakeries.
·         Finland (Munkki) eaten in cafes. Doughnuts were sold cold and filled with jam or vanilla sauce.
·         Greece (Loukoumas) doughnut with sugar. They have two shapes like the number 8 and torus. Doughnut shape 8 is crispier and the torus is larger and softer.
·         Netherlands(Oliebollen) it’s a fritter with or without raisins and usually sprinkled with sugar
·         Romania (Gogosi) it is fried like a pancake, without holes and it is filled with chocolate, cheese or jams. Also covered with sugar
