What Makes Me Smile? I Just Eat Ice Cream!


Who doesn't love ice cream? Just let me know. I’m pretty sure everyone loves this dessert. From children up to older ones, they really crave for ice cream.  

There are lots of new products for ice cream. If you want to eat ice cream but you’re conscious about your diet, there is low fat ice cream. Ice cream also contains health benefits not just milk, sugar and flavorings. 

Many people do not know that ice cream has these health benefits. Ice cream is not known to be eaten because of its health benefits but for having smile in our face. Ice cream is also associated with high calorie, sugar and fat content.

Ice cream contains Calcium that is important in building up bones and for stronger body. The calcium you can get from eating ice cream helps lesser the risk of having illness such as colon cancer, high blood and kidney stones. 

Ice cream also contains Protein, a building blocks for our body. Protein is important for our bones, muscles, tissues, blood, skin and cartilage. It has also an important role in repairing and building up our tissues. Our nails and hair are made of protein.

Vitamins are also present in ice cream.  Ice cream contains Vitamin A, Vitamin B2 and B12. It is to be taken in small amount. Vitamin A is good for our eyes vision, healthy skin and bones. Vitamin B2 and B12 is important for breaking down proteins, carbohydrates and fats in our body.

Knowing that ice cream has health benefits but we cannot abuse it. Eat with moderation and avoid over sugar and fat intake.

Eating ice cream benefits

  •     It helps in losing weight, shedding belly fats
  •         Regular calcium intake from ice cream can lower the risk of having osteoporosis, a disease related    to fracture of bones.                      
  •      Vitamin A, Vitamin B2 and b12
  •       Contains Proteins for tissues
  •        Contains Calcium for the bones

Here are the healthy options of Ice cream:

  •     Low- fat Ice cream – less fat and less calorie content than the regular ice cream
  •        Non-Diary Ice cream – usually soy based ice cream
  •         Sherbet- contains less milk than the regular ice cream. Comes along with egg whites and gelatin for thickness, but it contains more sugar than Low-fat ice cream.
  •       Soft Served Cce cream- it contains twice the air as the regular ice cream. Less sugar and fat but sometimes contains additives.

Risk for eating too much Ice Cream:

Regular or the traditional ice cream is loaded with sugar, saturated fats. It adds more calories because of the toppings added to this delight sweet. Nuts, mallows, chocolate chips, fudge, brownies and cookies are the traditional added toppings in ice creams.  Too much take of ice cream with high sugar and calorie content may result in having diabetes, high blood, high cholesterol and obesity.

Nowadays, a lot of ice cream manufacturer, produces healthier ice cream. They include fruits in ice cream and they make original flavors from fruits. 

There are reasons for your cautious ice cream eating
  •   It contains sugar, fat and calories.
  •   You may suffer from dreaded ice cream headache if you eat it too fast, like having a braid freeze
  •  Overwhelming and desire for ice cream can cause people to do crazy things.
